I heard that there are benefits because I am in Nevada regarding to starting a business. I am only doing an online business for now though. |

I already know about the capture page and auto responder. I have already tried to buy leads. Also I have tried to use MLM Lead System Pro. | Is it worth it to explain to my Mary Kay consultant why I don’t want to give her business anymore? Posted: 13 Jul 2011 02:22 PM PDT I originally went to a Mary Kay party back in December to take one for the team. (My fiance hangs out with a friend who is friend’s with her husband. They aren’t close, and quite frankly my fiance can’t stand the husband, but I thought it would be a nice thing to do.) I had no intent of buying anything or becoming a “customer of Mary Kay” (aka, working for them). In the end I did decide to order some product and give it a go. About a month later, I was invited to a “get together”, which was actually the promotion of my consultant’s person above her. It was more like Mary Kay church, where people were witnessing to how fabulous working for Mary Kay is. I considered it but spoke with my consultant and told her the timing was not right. ( I am doing work toward my master’s degree and planning a wedding, plus I teach full time. Sure the extra money would be nice but I am *not interested*). Another month passed and I was interested in scheduling another appointment with her to discuss a color palette for makeup. (I am clueless with that sort of thing.) This is where things start to get hairy, and in my opinion, boundaries were stepped on. She told me she had a goal to meet by a certain date and that she *needed* me to bring two girls to a party, and she’d *prefer* I not reschedule. I felt she was being subtly pushy, making it *my* job to fulfill her goal. Plus, I had been to one of those parties already. I did not want to hear the schpiel for the third time about how I am a great candidate to work for Mary Kay. Also, I had already referred her to all of the women who I thought would be interested. My other friends would HATE going to one of those things, esp. when they really can’t afford to invest in the products. (I don’t care if I get “free stuff” for bringing them….besides, to me that feels like I’m using my friends, plain and simple.) Oh, and in the end of the converation, she throws in a “You’re awesome! I love you!”. 1.) The only reason she thinks I”m awesome is because I’m bringing her money. 2) The “I love you” is pretentious. We are not friends. This is strictly a business relationship, and I felt even more used after she threw that line at me. The more I thought about her attitude, the more it infuriated me. In the end, I cancelled my appointment and told her I had no intentions of rescheduling. Really, I would have been quite content to have a one on one with her….but at that point, I felt I did not have the tolerance for it. I figured if she asked why, I’d explain. She has contacted me twice since then to ask if “everything is okay, and she hopes it is something she didn’t do.” Part of me feels responsible for informing her, and part of me feels like I should just leave it and let it be. Why get more involved than I need to? Also, while I”m on a Mary Kay rant, I really do like the product I’m using. Is there a generic “Mary Kay” online store I can buy it from, or do I have to find a consultant and join this crazy circus? Thank you for your input! |

Posted: 13 Jul 2011 02:22 PM PDT I’ve been doing some research online and some people say that if I want a corporate sponsor, I should contact the CEO or president of the company. Others are saying that I should contact the Public Relations Officer or head of marketing department. Who should I really contact if I want to send a letter, email, or call to entice a company to sponsor my for-profit business venture? |

Posted: 13 Jul 2011 08:29 AM PDT Hello- I am a single mom with 4 daughters (my oldest is my foster daughter who is 16, and I have a 16, 14, and 8 year old as well). I was laid off from my job as a Sr. Loan Processor and have been looking non-stop for work. I do get 500 child support and 500 foster support, but my rent is 1650.00 and my bills are stacking up! I have been going to school full time at ashford university (online) and am trying to get a BA in business managmnet to ensure a better job in the future. I am so stressed trying to come up with money to pay my rent and for gas to drive the kids to school and food for these girls, that I have no idea how I will be able to get the kids anything they need, much less Christmas presents! I am not able to get unemployment because i was 1099′d and can not get cash aid or food stamps because my support is so high. Luckily, I had some savings that was able to help with my rent and now it is all gone. I have negative 19.00 in my bank account and less than a dollar to my name. I have used everything (mostly on my gas and food). I have asked my church for help with Christmas, but I am not sure what they will do. I have been selling misc items on craigslist and don’t have much more to sell! I will be getting my support on the first and will sell anything I can to come up with the rest of my rent, if possible. I have an interview set up for next week for a processing job, and a couple interviews making min wage. I am really praying for the processing job because that would pay my bills – but anything would be better than nothing. I know that when I get a job it will take me several paychecks to catch up on my utilities (that are all behind), my car payments (that are 2 months behind), my car insurance (that has now lapsed), etc, and I know there is no way I will have any money to buy presents for the girls! I am in Southern Orange County and willing to babysit, clean, run erronds, shop, organize, wrap presents, or do any type of office work for money or presents for my girls. If you know of a job I can do for you or someone, or know of a good possition in a company please let me know. I have been doing home loans and processing them for 7 years. I am also a notary public. My girls really need and want for Christmas- shampoos, razors, socks, shoes, clothes, make-up, and Jackets. Also, if anyone has any ideas of a program that can help me please let me know. I would also like to ask for prayers for me and my girls. Thank you! |
