If you have an online business in which you buy from wholesalers and resell, do you need a license?

How do I attract customers to a new online business?

Posted: 12 Jun 2011 04:22 PM PDT

Aside from advertising of course. I just started my online comic book store. The first shipment of merchandise has yet to arrive. In the meantime I’m not sure what to do to get people to choose my store over larger, established names. Part of the problem is that for the initial push my stock will be small until I can gauge how well the business is doing. I don’t want the first customers to get scared away thinking I will have less than the competitor (which I will at first, of course).

How would I start my own background check business?

Posted: 12 Jun 2011 12:20 PM PDT

I was interested in starting my own background checking business online; such as look up records for potential employees on behalf of companies. I was a collector and so therefore am a strong skip tracer and know what programs are needed to use online to find a person. I know I have to pay for services online and am willing to pay IF this idea works. I would like to know more about the laws needed to start this sort of business so as not to cross any boundaries that will cause trouble in the state of Texas, and how to get this business launched ASAP since I am on a tight budget.

where can I get a cheap, good website package (website, host, domain name) for starting an online business?

Posted: 12 Jun 2011 12:20 PM PDT

I’m wanting to start an online business, but I know very little about things like web hosts, web sites, domain names, etc. and there are so many providers to choose from that I don’t know who to choose from or even where to start. I don’t want to spend a lot of money until I know if my business will do good, but on the other hand I don’t want to buy anything that is’nt any good. I’d appreciate any tips on these matters

Filing taxes for a new business?

Posted: 12 Jun 2011 10:24 AM PDT

I just started a small online home-based craft business. I’ve kept all of my receipts – supplies, tools, shipping charges to customers, and I also have a federal tax ID number. Can anyone tell me exactly what forms I need to file for the upcoming tax season? It hasn’t made too much of a profit yet – probably less than ,000. I also do some freelance design on the side. How do I file everything? Do I have to fill out separate forms for the freelance and the online business? I can’t afford a CPA, can someone kindly help me out with as much info as possible? Thank you!!!

Pirated Program, Big Business gets IP…whats next?

Posted: 12 Jun 2011 08:22 AM PDT

ok so theoretically, lets say guy downloads a program like photoshop or excel from a big company (Adobe, Google, Microsoft). In the installation process the program requires a pass code which is given and then it requires online registration. During online reg the company aquires guy’s IP and possably the used pass code…Assuming they now know that the pass code is pirated what can/will they do with guy’s IP…what are the odds that they will aim a virus guy’s way or use the IP address in a legal situation?

How can I apply for a government grant to help with housing and/or a business?

Posted: 12 Jun 2011 08:22 AM PDT

I am a soon-to-be mother who is looking for all possible ways to earn an income that will help support her child. Online businesses are not an option, nor is anything else online, really, because I have no credit cards nor checking accounts… I am literally living off pennies to pay for rent and other expences at the moment and, being pregnant, it is near impossible to find a job willing to work with me…

Please, I would appreciate any help available for me…
I guess I forgot to mention – the babies father is still part of my life – as a matter-of-fact, he is the only reason we are able to pay the bills at the moment.

Do not get me wrong, I am not looking for an easy way out… I’m just looking for any possible ways that I can help better my child’s life. Although WIC and Food Assistance helps, it is not enough…
