How Long Does it Normally Take a Check to post?

I received a check on Saturday morning for a little over 00. I went to the bank before 12 pm and deposited it in my account. The receipt they gave me said the deposit date was 6/20 but the deposit effective date would be 6/22. I checked my online account balance today and it didn’t post the check. I called the automated bank service line and the balance in my account had not been updated. I even went to the ATM to check and still nothing.

The check was written from an account at the same bank so I don’t understand why it is taking so long. Normally if you take it after 2pm or before 12pm on a Saturday it posts “next business day,” but I haven’t seen it yet. I am just worried there was a problem with the check and I am not going to get credit in my account. A friend of mine said it may because it was such a large amount on the check, but that doesn’t sound right to me.

I am looking to start trading some stock online; not as a day trader but just to try it out. I have a normal brokerage account via my bank, but I don’t like the too high brokerage fees and how it takes a while to process.

I want to buy and sell, but I don’t like to do it that often, no short selling or day trading (like I said).

I have heard of several options, like e*trade, options express, scottrade and such. But I do not know which one is for me.

Which one has the best prices commissions and other fees? would some charge me when I don’t trade often? how would payments go though (paypal or direct withdrawal/deposit)?

being a Business school guy, I can do my own research. so no need for that feature…but I am flexible.

any suggestions?

I’m in the process of setting up licensing, resell permit, and wholesale accounts with vendors. I will be operating initially as a home based business. this is not a handout type of brochure. When people email me and want to know more about what I sell online, I would like to email the brochure to them.

I have a microsoft windows xp used computer I think 2007. I need a basic type of brochure, mostly menu type. Go easy.. I’m not overly techy

i want to start a online project. the problem is right now i work atleast 60 hrs a week for minimum wage. i am supporting a family of 5 on that income so i dont have a lot of cash to spare or time. i am looking for something i can do a few hrs a day that will make some extra spending money for me and my kids. and hopefully something that will let me earn enough to cut down on my hrs at my job and still be financally stable. tired of living paycheck to paycheck

I asked this question in the business section with no responses. I figured many other stay at home mommies might have more experience with this.
