A concern some producers are having is that there are so many producers selling their beats online that the market has some how become saturated, and have made it harder to sell beats online
Sure that "sounds good", but anyone with any real business knowledge knows that is pure non-sense.
1. First of all, there are more than a few up and coming artist. There are at least 500 up and coming artist for every one music producer. There are more than enough up and coming artist to support a long term online business.
2. Up and Coming artist constantly need more beats. Just because they buy a beat from one website, doesn't mean they won't buy 4 from another. In fact there is a good chance they will buy from other producers also.
3. Most producers don't know how to sell their beats online correctly. It takes internet marketing knowledge in order to make real money selling beats online. The fact is I've seen literally dozens of producers beats selling sites. Most of them are done all wrong.
4. More and more up and coming artist are coming online. Lets be real. Music myspace, soundclick, and all of those sites for up and coming artist aren't declining, their growing. They are growing because there are more artist coming online to promote their music.
5. It's never been easier. Back when I first started there were no automated systems where I could upload beats and collect money in my sleep. Everything was hands on, and didn't allow us to sell anywhere as many beats as you can now. It's all about automated systems now. And thats where the money is made.
